Amalfi Coast is famous for their very large and sweet lemons. The coast is full of lemon groves and every shop offers tons of lemon products. Amalfi lemon variety is called  sfusato amalfitano , sfusato , meaning “spindle,” due to its tapered shape. They are very sweet and can be eaten whole. The Amalfi lemon’s distinctive flavor has influenced the region’s cuisine for centuries. The lemons have been in Italy since the time of the Ancient Romans. In fact, frescoes and mosaics surviving from the ancient city of Pompeii depict the Amalfi lemons. Later, during the discovery of the Americas, region’s lemon production increased. Amalfi lemons are higher in Vitamin C and were needed for long ocean voyages to combat scurvy. Today, the process is still the same, the lemons are picked by hand only by newer generations. What has changed is the ever increasing importance of the lemons over time tying them to Amalfi’s culture and economy.

Capri is a rocky island located off the bay of Naples. There no other place like it, turquoise waters, limestone cliffs, luxury, and charm. Capri has been a been a vacation destination since Roman times. Emperor Augustus aquired the island in 29 B.C. and built many villas there, that why it is called the Island of Emperors. These are the places you can visit: Faraglioni Rocks, the giant rocks are the island postcard landmark. The boats pass through a carved cave in one of the rocks. Legend has it that if a couple shares a kiss while passing through the cave it will brign them luck. The Blue Grotto, a cave with crystal blue waters illuminated from the sunlight outside. It was believed that sirens lived in these caves. This place is hasle to get to but is truly magical. You can even cruise around the whole island. You can see are other grottos, beaches, magnificent coastline and have time to swim or snorkel. Capri is just as beautiful on land as well, here is where you can go for stunning views. Monte Solaro, the highest peak on the island. You can catch a chair lift in Anacapri to the top where you can take in the breathtaking views of the Capri, Sorrento Peninsula, and the bay of Naples. Giardini di Augusto, is botanical garden with picturesque views of the Faraglioni Rocks, Mount Solaro, and Marina Piccola. Capri has is split into two town Capri and Anacapri. The vibe is different in Capri since it is set on higher eleveation, it is more laid back while Capri is glamourous with boutique shops and celebrities. Piazzetta di Capri, Capri’s town square, is great place to eat and watch the rich and famous.
